I’m sorry – maybe I’m a bit boring with my obsession of autumn leaves, but it’s really hard to ignore them lately…! Somehow it became my habit just to do some leaf-hunting while we’re going out and take a look closer and identify the edge, type and shape – whether it’s lobed, needle-liked, star-shaped, toothed, ovate, or whether it’s from the Maple family, Oak tree, or Beech. I know it sounded more like an elementary school activities, hee, but I’m pretty content by doing so. Also that’s a good fall activity for Azka and Khalif other than leaf painting, so they would observe their surroundings in more detail and they can observe, which trees are evergreens, and maybe started to wonder why some are remains green and changed the colors in different pace than others, why some trees changed their colors well-distributed (all yellows or browns or reds), while others has a gradient colors, etc. Just learn to little things that we see everyday, types of the leaves, trees, flowers, clouds (even they’re more interested to street signs and types of vehicles right now). Before doing the leaf hunt, we did some reading, so some leaves are just familiar for us to identify.
Some of the leaves that we found in New Bedford area that catch my eyes – I’m not 100% sure which leaf is which, because there’re too many variety and some of them are really look alike…! But let’s see:
This year is the best autumn that we’ve experienced….Alhamdulillah. I hope to see you next year… (and hopefully not the latest autumn for our family). Amen to that.
