Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry

” A puppet is the artist’s soul set free.” -Frank Ballard, Puppeteer, Designer/Director, Teacher

Last week we went to Storrs – a small town in Mansfield, Connecticut to attend Najwaya’s 5th Birthday. After the birthday party was over we decided to have a quick visit to Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry (BIMP) in University of Connecticut (UConn). It is just a small museum, but nice and worth visited; the Museum preserves and exhibits puppets from around the world as well as those created at the University of Connecticut. BIMP also provides research and educational opportunities to all who share the love of puppetry.

The Ballard Museum is open for the season (Summer);  Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 12 noon to 5 p.m., or by appointment. Admission is by donation.
