After two months of sleepless nights and round-the-clock soothing, you’ve seen plenty of your baby’s tears. Maybe you’ve spotted a fleeting smile, but then again, it could have been gas. Now it’s time for the real reward. By around 2 months of age, your baby will smile in response to you! The sound of your voice or the sight of your face is often all it takes to trigger baby’s irresistible grin – WebMD.
There are 9 major milestones in the first year of baby’s life. The first one is smiling. Khalif’s first smile that I noticed was in his first 24hr, but it wasn’t called as a “social smile”; meaning that if he gave me a grin or looked like as if he was smiling, he actually wasn’t intended to smile at me in a personal way. Sometimes he was also laughing (making a laughs sound and his body was shaking as if something really funny just happened). Usually it took 8 weeks for a baby to give the social smile, but Khalif gave me 1 week earlier when he was 7 weeks 🙂
