Devil's Food Cake

This is my second attempt to make Devil’s Food Cake. The first one I made on Ara’s Bday last July with Nigella’s recipe through her Youtube video. But did not really that successful in terms of the presentation and taste. This one I use David Lebovitz‘s recipe with step by step picture and instructions using Peegaw’s.

Now I know why it is called Devil’s Cake…. :9

  1. Hello! That cake looks great! I just want to ask if you had any trouble with the ganache frosting being too runny (a few people have asked me about it), and how long did you have leave it to set before its firm enough to frost the cake with (mine took about an hour in the fridge). Oh, and I totally agree with you on Nigella Lawson’s recipe…her cake batter looked a little too runny in the video and I wasn’t sure how it managed to come out alright. Anyways, sorry if this is a little too long!

Awwww my idol commented on my blog 😀 Yes I always impatient when it comes frosting, I dunno how to do it correctly and NOW I know what my mistake was (made exactly same mistake for red velvet cake that I made yesteday, it looks even worst since the butter wasn’t soften enough so it has some granule buttery-texture); I didn’t put it in the fridge, and probably took only 40 minutes in room temperature before applied it onto the cake. Next time would be better 😀 Thank you for the suggestion! Btw, I still have to learn a lot doing the foodography technique from you, I bookmarked it and still trying to digest it, haa!
